19. Eden Hazard vs Newcastle United – 2013/14

On this day against Newcastle United, Eden Hazard was at his most unplayable. He scored a hat-trick against the Magpies and the three goals he scored showed the many abilities he has as a footballer. It was the second goal however that truly exemplified his talents.

Hazard made one of his trademark charging runs into the box, going directly at defenders and forcing them to retreat. He found Samuel Eto’o waiting in the six-yard-box, fed him the ball, and this is where his footballing intelligence came into play.

Rather than expect Eto’o to turn and shoot on his own, Hazard continued his run and the Cameroonian striker found him with a lovely little pass between his legs. It was a well-worked goal that was typical of Hazard’s ability to play off a target man, especially one with the talent and experience of Eto’o.
