Brazil have got off to a flyer in their World Cup qualifier against Uruguay, with Chelsea FC winger Willian linking up with Douglas Costa for the opening goal.

Brazil are currently taking on Uruguay in a crucial match in their 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign. With just two wins in their first four games, Dunga’s men desperately need the three points this evening. Chelsea FC’s Willian has helped them get off to a great start.

The winger has carried his fine Blues form into international affairs, putting in a teasing ball for Douglas Costa to convert.

Willian shimmies on the near side, engineering the half-yard needed to send the ball in. The left-footed cross manages to find its way through the Uruguay defence, allowing Costa to apply the finish.

This effort, in the first minute of the contest no less, has gifted the Brazilians an ideal start. Willian will undoubtedly be looking to cause more problems as the evening wears on in order to help his country secure the three points.

The winger has at times single-handedly carried Chelsea throughout this dire campaign and has been held up as an example for his lacklustre teammates to follow. Having been linked with a Stamford Bridge exit last summer, he has since proven to be one of the most valuable players in the squad.

Now, he is showing that he is equally as effective on the international stage, with Dunga rewarding him for his performances with consistent starts. With the Copa America Centenario looming this summer, Brazil will be heavily leaning on him and the likes of Neymar should they want to go all the way.
