After much speculation regarding its design, Eden Hazard and Ruben Loftus-Cheek finally unveiled Chelsea FC’s home kit for the 2016/17 season.

Chelsea FC took a big step towards leaving this campaign in the past by unveiling their 2016/17 home strip on Wednesday morning. Ending weeks of alternative speculation, Eden Hazard and Ruben Loftus-Cheek were the two dashing models chosen to reveal what the Blues will be turning out in come August.

The unveiling confirms the rumours that have been doing the rounds regarding the new strip. It’s a classy looking shirt, combining classic Chelsea blue with some nice white trimmings and edges. Furthermore, the tonal blue lions that have been included in leaked photos do appear.

This latter aspect has been a source of debate, with some enjoying the texture it brings to the shirt while others are moaning that it reminds them of something they would sleep in instead.

Enough about the fashion, though. This announcement is another step towards the 2016/17 campaign. After this dire season, everyone associated with the Blues will be looking to swiftly leave it in the past.

Following Chelsea’s draw with Tottenham (arguably the final game that any Blues fan cared about), attention has switched to what Antonio Conte will bring to Stamford Bridge.

Transfer rumours have been rife linking the Blues with a move for a number of Serie A players while a overhaul of the club’s academy policy has also been touted.

Conte has a mammoth task on his hands, but all the players should be raring to make amends. Hopefully they can quickly turn fortunes around and put a smile back on the faces of the Stamford Bridge faithful.
