The Premier League title is Chelsea’s to lose

Chelsea are eight points clear through 22 matches. They have four remaining games against teams in the top six. The title is theirs to lose.

Antonio Conte’s men showed no signs of slowing down, winning 15 of their last 16 matches. With Liverpool and Arsenal looming on the fixture list, this match was a potential “banana skin”. Starting the XI that has produced the majority of results in this impressive run was Conte’s way of telling the league “Chelsea are not messing around”.

With 16 matches remaining, Tottenham, Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City or even United still have time to make a serious run. Amazingly, nobody besides Chelsea are really showing they want that title. The lack of transfer activity in the winter window by the other title challengers casts doubt on their pursuit of the Blues.
