A roundup of the best Pride of London articles as Chelsea cools down from (the disaster that was) Manchester City and warms up for Malmo.

In the famous words of Ferris Bueller, “life moves pretty fast”. So as Chelsea bounce from match to match, it is easy to get lost in the hustle and bustle. That is where this round up comes in. What was the aftermath of the Manchester City loss? How is Chelsea gearing up for Malmo in the Europa League? And what else is going on?

Cooling down from Manchester City

Boy oh boy did the contributors of Pride of London have some takes about the worst loss in decades. Many of the contributors were not even born the last time this happened.

George somehow avoided the temptation to use negative numbers as he got the ball rolling with player ratings. Somehow they still seem too high.

The blame was well spread out after the match and Hugo pointed his finger on Maurizio Sarri. Hugo sees this all as Sarri’s own making.

Travis piggy backed on that by saying Chelsea cannot support the current state of affairs. Unless Sarri opts to change something, the club will opt to change something for him (spoilers: it is the manager).

Who really deserves the blame for the City loss? Rupert says it matters little if no change comes about.

Vishnu, however, believes Sarri is not taking enough of the blame for the recent run of form. This run of form simply does not just happen.

Warming up for Malmo

Bless Kevin for considering Malmo for a second. Chelsea is looking to ease their woes against the Swedish side.

Travis tried to get into Sarri’s head for the predicted XI, but this was perhaps the trickiest one of all. With his job on the line, how much does Sarri rotate for Malmo?

And that was it. Really, it is hard to say a whole lot about Malmo after Chelsea just had its worse loss in almost three decades.

The elephants in the room

Barrett took to his normal tactics and transfers with a sledgehammer to the squad. Coming off the City loss, Barrett is looking at trimming the squad to the bare bones and building up from what is left behind.

George is all in on understanding what the regista does, but he still has thoughts about Phil Jones having more assists than Jorginho this season. Phil Jones. Yes that one.

An often asked question after the City loss was if Sarri was sacked, who could possibly come in? Well Travis names the likely suspects for the short term because there is no good answer.

Gabe joined Barrett in looking to trim the fat off of the squad. He went into great detail on who is good enough to remain and who has to go.

Scott took a different side of things by pointing out that this situation has happened with the players before. Antonio Conte, Jose Mourinho, and Maurizio Sarri cannot all be wrong in his view.

Cesar Azpilicueta is having an up and down season. With Ola Aina and Reece James in the pipeline, Gabe wonders how the club will deal with the situation.

Mason joins in with looking towards the future. How can Chelsea recover as a club?

Travis listened to all the rebuild talk, but believes there are quite a few contradictions involving how it will go down. History points at this being messy.

Oliver believes Sarri has options beyond the 4-3-3. If the manager is willing, could he use a 5-3-2 or 3-1-3-3?

George asks a simple question: does anyone really want a guy like Mauro Icardi in the squad? Are their not enough issues already?

Questions to think on from Malmo to Manchester United

Chelsea has traditionally turned up for competitions where silverware is on the line. Can Chelsea do the same this weekend (plus Monday)?
