Strikers

On the roster: Olivier Giroud, Michy Batshuayi, Tammy Abraham

Olivier Giroud has been the most underrated player in the locker room. While Chelsea has struggled to find a top striker, Giroud has done a remarkable job in contributing goals since he was signed. Although he does not score much but makes a vital contribution in goals in every game he plays. His linkup play with Hazard and other wingers was working for Chelsea in the early stages of the season.

He has always played a second fiddle to other strikers, but has proven his worth time and time again for Chelsea now and Arsenal in the past. Maybe it is time to make him the number one striker, as due the ban Gonzalo Higuain would be heading back to Juventus.

The Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi has been on loan to Dortmund, Valencia and is now at Crystal palace. He has shined in all his short term loan spells at other clubs but has never really got a full and fair chance to prove himself with Chelsea. Now that a transfer ban looms over Chelsea, it is time to call the batsman and hope that he delivers for the club. The loan moves around in different leagues should have equipped Batshuayi with new skills and better understanding of his roles as a striker. He should be wiser and more clinical now. More than anything else the West London club would desperately need strikers in the summer.

Tammy Abraham is making a name for himself in the Championship. The striker is another part of Chelsea’s huge loan army. He has scored 21 goals in 31 games for Aston Villa. His addition to the squad would give Chelsea another striker to experiment with but could also mean that the club could switch to a formation with two strikers up front. If Eden Hazard leaves, this would probably be the best temporary solution for the club to fill the void. Abraham would have either have Giroud or Batshuayi beside him to learn from.

Next. Maurizio Sarri could learn success through simplicity from national teams. dark

All of Chelsea’s young guns are performing superb and with the transfer ban limitations, the club should give the youngsters a chance.
