3. Central Midfielder: Fikayo Tomori (Alternate: Callum Hudson-Odoi)

Pacey, defensively excellent and an underrated passer, Fikayo Tomori would be the perfect emergency option for Frank Lampard in midfield.

Tomori has been a revelation for Chelsea at centre back, bossing attackers on multiple occasions this season. His desire to dribble and pass with some cheekiness has certainly added an extra dimension to Chelsea’s game, but he has at times been over-excited to do these things and given the ball away in dangerous positions. His pace (and some impressive covering by Kurt Zouma) has meant that most of those messes have gone unpunished, but he needs to start curbing this tendency to be too clever in his own half.

A move further up field could satisfy all his on-ball desires. He would then have more room to make such errors without putting his team in compromising positions. He could add some physicality and steel that the current midfield is missing and provide more balance to the entire side. He could even try his hand at scoring more worldies like the one against Wolves.

With some training, Callum Hudson-Odoi could be utilised in a more central role to influence the game better, making him the next best alternative.
