2. Abraham has a killer mindset

The season concluded for Lampard after losing to Bayern Munich in the Champions League. The 7-1 aggregate loss meant the club’s best achievement was finishing inside the top four. This was an important target for the Blues with the direction they want to go in.

Abraham scored in the game away at the Allianz. This meant the number nine concluded his season with 18 goals in all competitions. He spoke to Chelsea TV after the game and gave a genuine, honest interview. He explained that he must fight for his place, knowing that nothing is going to be handed to him. The 22-year-old continued by saying the size of Chelsea means there will always be a high calibre of players.

One thing that stood out was his determination to score more goals next season. He preached that he wants to score a higher tally next time out, stating that he can do this if he stays clear of injuries and performs well in training. Many players cannot wait for the end of season break, but Abraham expressed his desire to get back to training.

This is exactly what Chelsea needs. The Blues need players that want to play for the club, love playing for the badge and leave everything out there on the pitch. Abraham has been at Chelsea since he was a child. Having to go out on loan to Bristol City, Swansea City and Aston Villa was all in preparation for a regular spot at Stamford Bridge, which he has shown potential of fulfilling with his attitude and mindset
