Jorginho (Defensive midfielder): 6/10

The Italian came on at halftime against Arsenal as Chelsea looked to turn things around and had he converted his penalty in the closing stages, the Blues would have had an outside chance of claiming a point. Nonetheless, he got the nod to start and played pretty well against Villa. As absurd as it sounds, he made the same number of tackles as N’Golo Kante, while also recording more interceptions.

N’Golo Kante (Central midfielder): 6/10

Jorginho’s inclusion in the starting line-up meant that Kante had to be moved from what many people consider as his natural position. Although, that didn’t hinder him from performing well once again. A shot on target, as well as three key passes, is a healthy return in an attacking role for a midfielder. He remains Chelsea’s only ever-present player in the Premier League this term and it’s not hard to see why.

Mason Mount (Central midfielder): 6.5/10

Mason Mount was his usual industrious self in the middle of the park for Chelsea. His passing range has gone up a level this season so it’s no surprise to see complete all seven of his long balls during the game. He was Chelsea’s joint-most creative player on the night with three chances created. The only downside was the quality of his set piece deliveries which was less than what we have come to expect.

Kai Havertz (Central midfielder): 5/10

Kai Havertz has been out of the first team picture of late, but he was introduced for the final 20 minutes of the game. He was tidy in possession this time, which is already an upgrade to many of his more recent performances, but offered little goal threat.
