Timo Werner (Striker): 7.5/10

Yes, Werner has played his eighth different position. He looked lively in the first half, setting up Abraham for his first goal. The second half reminded Chelsea fans about their frustrations with him all season, as he got into the right areas but had no end product whatsoever. Werner earned himself a penalty with his pace and then he missed it—the goal drought continues.

Tammy Abraham (Striker): 9/10

It was a fantastic performance from Abraham as he worked hard from the being of the game to moment he was subbed off. The English forward got himself his hat-trick on the afternoon. He was in the right positions the entire game, which could have led to even more than three goals if the Blues took their chances. He pressed when needed to get the ball back and thrusted the attack forward. This is exactly what you want your striker to do and why it could lead to Abraham starting more games in the future which would be well deserved.

Callum Hudson-Odoi (Left midfielder): 8.5/10

Hudson-Odoi always seems to make an impact when he comes off the bench, it was no different against Luton. He came on with 20 minutes to go for Pulisic and had an impact from his first very first touch. He ran at the Luton defense with intent and got past them on many occasions, which lead to him assisting Abraham on the final goal. These kind of performances earn Hudson-Odoi more playing time.

Kai Havertz (Right midfielder): 6/10

Kai Havertz came on with 10′ to go and really didn’t do anything of note, he should have started the game in the No. 10 role though. He simply needs minutes to gain confidence, which is needed for Lampard to play him in any competition. Why he didn’t get more minutes in a cup against a Championship side makes no sense.

Olivier Giroud (Striker): 6/10

Olivier Giroud replaced Abraham up front and had two chances where he tried to chip the goalkeeper to no avail. That was about it.

Mateo Kovacic (Central midfielder): 6/10

Mateo Kovacic earned six minutes on the pitch, replacing Mount. He put in some good defensive work to close out the result and played the through ball to Werner that won the Blues the penalty.
