Reece James (Right wingback): 8/10

Reece James was heavily involved throughout the first half with the majority of play being on the right side. He put some good balls into the box and played really well in combination with Mason Mount. He was more quiet in the second half, but that was no fault of his own. Excellent in this game overall.

Jorginho (Central midfielder): 6.5/10

Jorginho failed to bounce back after Saturday’s defeat and did more of the same against Porto. In the first half, he got pushed of the ball a lot, passed sideways to much and never really looked forward to create chances for the attackers. The assist he got was down to the brilliance of Mount. This part of Jorginho’s game will always be there and it could come to bite us when up against the top teams who can take advantage of these mistakes, maybe some time out of the side is needed.

Mateo Kovacic (Central midfielder): 7.5/10

Mateo Kovacic once again did what typical No. 8s do: drive the ball forward from the midfield and create chances for forwards. He did much better than Jorginho and that’s why he is so important for a side who struggles to create many chances. He should be one the first names on the team sheet as he is invaluable to this side.

Ben Chilwell (Left wingback): 8.5/10

Both fullbacks were fantastic against Porto, and Ben Chilwell particularly so. He has been in and out of the side since Tuchel has arrived, but every time he plays, he either creates chances for his teammates or scores goals for himself. At times, he looks like the most attacking threat on the pitch, which is huge plus for a team whose forwards lack confidence in front of goal. He was alert and ready when stealing the ball off Corona. Chilwell had the poise to get past the keeper and place it into an open net to double the Blues’ lead. Hopefully from here forward, Chilwell is a regular in the starting XI.

N’Golo Kante (Central midfielder): N/A

N’Golo Kante got some minutes after returning early from his national team and let this be a warm up for him as he returns to starting XI Saturday.
