Chelsea and Manchester City combined XI: A Blue moon
Central midfielder: N’Golo Kante, Chelsea
N’Golo Kante was the first name on this team sheet. The man just ran past Real Madrid’s midfield (consisting of players who were sleeping on Twitter and the pitch) in two legs, won Man of the Match awards in both games and returned home in his Mini Cooper. The man just continues to win hearts with every performance, and his humble attitude is the icing on the cake. No one even comes close to Kante’s position in this combined XI. Rodri has been tidy, but inconsistent, while Fernandinho continues to make a highlight reel of moments that could lead to red cards. The Frenchman has been on a roll as he has contributed to the game’s attacking and defensive phase. He averages an insane 2.7 tackles per game with an average of 2.1 interceptions per game. There is nothing this man cannot do, and there is nothing that can stop this man.
Attacking midfielder: Kevin de Bruyne, Manchester City
This footballer does not need any introduction. Nothing can justify his presence on a football pitch, not statistics, not highlight reels. His vision, his movement, his passing, everything is just perfect. Kevin de Bruyne is perfect.
Attacking midfielder: Mason Mount, Chelsea
Every discussion that is even remotely related to Chelsea needs to include Mason Mount. The man is the epitome of the Chelsea Football Club. He breathes Chelsea, he loves Chelsea and there is nothing more exciting than watching him and imagining a future where he leads the Blues. Mount has proved rival (and Chelsea) fans wrong time and time again, and his performances have been terrific, oozing with consistency. This season, Mount has been one of Chelsea’s most influential players, and he will go on to win the Player of the Season award soon. It’s not even a debate.
