Chelsea has struck out twice thus far in all competitions against Leicester City. The Foxes defeated Thomas Tuchel’s men by a score of 1-0 in their most recent meeting, a crushing blow to the Blues’ hopes of lifting a trophy this season. Their loss to Arsenal just a few days before also makes the top four race a lot closer. To put it simply, this is a must win for the home side. There will be fans in the stands and nervousness in the air, Chelsea simply has to seize the moment. A little added motivation will come from the viral video of Daniel Amartey throwing the Blues’ pre-match flag on the ground in a disrespectful celebration, not that Tuchel’s side needs more reason to win.
Here is how The Pride of London team sees the contest playing out:

Barrett Rouen: 3-1 Chelsea
It would be very Chelsea to turn up for this match having lost to the Foxes, Arsenal and turned up the pressure on ourselves. I do also think that viral video of their player throwing the Blues’ flag on the ground will prove motivating. Edouard Mendy, the legend, will be back in goal offering some justice in the area thankfully. I do also think it would be funny though to lose every game except the Champions League final, finish sixth, but keep Liverpool out regardless. It’s best not to plan on that though.
Michael DeVito: 1-0 Chelsea
Hopefully the manager hasn’t totally knocked the stuffing out of his own team by poor team selections the past two games. Maybe Mendy can restore their confidence. If not, us Blues fans will be singing the blues.
Tan Yi Hao: 2-0 Chelsea
Part one of four “finals” did not go to plan—let’s hope part two does.
Anthony Gatt: 1-1 Draw
Leicester has a load of confidence, Chelsea does not. The Blues haven’t scored a goal in two games, despite all their chances and possession, so I am hesitant to predict anything better than a draw in a must win game. I hope the players prove me wrong and get the job done.
Akshat Mehrish: 2-0 Chelsea
Life certainly seems a helluva lot worse after two defeats—both equally important and demoralizing in their own right. While it is easy to point fingers at others, Tuchel’s side as a collective needs to take a deep breath and focus on what’s still left to play for. We were a team others hated playing against until a week ago—progress like that doesn’t evaporate just as easily. Not to mention the fact that we have been absolutely devoid of any luck in the past two games. I feel that the rematch against Leicester will see the Blues return to winning ways; a gentle, timely reminder to a collective in agony that there is always dawn after the darkest night.
Scott Brant: 1-0 Chelsea
Chelsea has struggled to score over the last two matches, hence the 1-0 prediction. This match is the the biggest match of the season so far in my humble opinion, I will always take Champions League qualification over an FA Cup trophy if presented with the option. I know there is no way Tammy Abraham on comes on and nets the one goal needed to get the biggest three points of the year, but I can dream, can’t I?
Olaoluwa Nwobodo: 1-0 Chelsea
It has to be. I have no reason for predicting that scoreline, other than it has to be. I’m desperate. I don’t know if tactics will even play a part in this game. Just win; please win.
Abhishek Pancholi: 4-0 Chelsea
The FA Cup final loss might turn out to be the catalyst for a late Chelsea resurgence that could yet save their season. A goalfest awaits the lucky few who will be present in the stadium.
Kevin Peacock: 2-0 Chelsea
I’m really hoping Leicester has a cup final hangover. It was a bad weekend for Chelsea Football Club as a whole and a lift is needed. Tuchel’s refusal to play Abraham is disappointing, particularly when the front players are firing blanks. The German has to find a way of getting through the next three games with three wins and the optimist in me says this will be the first.
Olly Smith: 1-1 Draw
This isn’t the result the Blues want, but they haven’t shown anything on the pitch that deserves more. Without any attacking flair evident in Tuchel’s past three games, don’t expect anything more than the Blues salvaging a draw. The Foxes are the real deal on their day and the German’s freezing out of Abraham & Olivier Giroud has been largely ignored during Chelsea’s winning run; another ignominious result and more questions will surely be asked.
Gabe Henderson: 2-0 Chelsea
The Blues win these must-win games.
