Cesar Azpilicueta (Right wingback): 7/10

The Spanish fullback had a very quiet game on Wednesday. He was given acres of space throughout the first half by Malmo, but could not do much with it. In the second half, with the Swedish side having a little more possession, Cesar Azpilicueta still didn’t have much to do either defensively or attacking wise. He was substituted in the 65′ by Reece James.

Jorginho (Central midfielder): 9/10

The Man of the Match award went to the Italian midfielder Jorginho, who converted two penalties on the day. Jorginho was involved in all fronts in the contest, playing as a deep-lying midfielder, making three interceptions and a match-high eight tackles. The midfielder was also involved in the attacking third, taking two shots on goal and making one key pass.

N’Golo Kante (Central midfielder): 7.5/10

The French midfielder did what he does best: dominate the midfield with ease. From the start of the game and until the time N’Golo Kante was replaced by Saul Niguez in the 65′, the midfielder made the game his own. He was predominantly playing in Malmo’s half throughout, as well. All in all, a solid performance with minutes managed perfectly for the French sensation.

Ben Chilwell (Left wingback): 7.5/10

Ben Chilwell was one of the better players on the pitch, proving a pain for all the Malmo defenders. Defensively, the England international had very little to do due to Malmo’s lack of attacking threat. Having played the majority of the game in Malomo’s half, the wingback made attacking runs forward and didn’t shy away from taking shots on the goal either. He was substituted by Marcos Alonso in the 66′.

Saul Niguez (Central midfielder): 6/10

A rare outing for the man on loan from Atletico Madrid ahead of Ruben Loftus-Cheek. Even after playing for 30-odd minutes, the Spaniard did not do much to be noticed.

Reece James (Right wingback): 6/10

Just like Azpilicueta, Reece James did not have much defending to do, if any. He played the majority of his game in the final third and tried to add to his goal tally.

Marcos Alonso (Left wingback): 6/10

Having replaced Chilwell in the 65′, Alonso spent a majority of his evening in the final third. Might as well have played up front, a place fans have always dreamed of him lining up.
