Prediction
The home side has conceded 11 goals in the last three home games in all competitions. Therefore, there seems to be very little hope that the hosts will be able to keep this West Ham side out for very long, especially considering the Irons are high on confidence right now. Just like the last meeting at the London Stadium, supporters can expect a high-scoring affair.
For Chelsea, this game will come down to the team Tuchel decides to field. If for some reason the manager goes with any of the central defenders that played against Arsenal, it’s almost certain that the Blues will lose the game against an in-form attack.
The reason for Chalobah’s absence is very weird and if given the chance, he needs to show the manager that he can be trusted. The Englishman could get his opportunity to prove that it was a mistake not to play him against Arsenal. The midfield was far too open against the Gunners, as well, with Ruben Loftus-Cheek and N’Golo Kante playing. As such, fans should expect a much tighter performance in the middle of the park from the Blues. Kai Havertz should back into the starting line-up too, so expect a much more fluid attacking display.
I predict an end-to-end game with Havertz and Mason Mount to score for Chelsea; Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio to score for West Ham in a scintillating London derby.
My prediction: Chelsea 2-2 West Ham
