Winger Christian Pulisic is the talk of Chelsea Twitter today, with multiple Premier League sides said to be eyeing a transfer for the United States of America captain. There is also an apparently favourable offer on the table, or at least interest, from abroad. Juventus are reportedly monitoring Pulisic’s situation and fancy a move for the 23-year-old. Serie A tempts the player, and he is prepared to switch sides this summer. There is even gossip that Juve man Weston McKennie is in contact with his compatriot. I have encouraged Thomas Tuchel – not personally – to keep and use Pulisic.

It is fair to say that forward has had his ups and down at Stamford Bridge, at a still early career stage. Though I feel he is going to succeed somewhere again, just as he wowed spectators at Borussia Dortmund. Seeing the Hershey-born athlete at another English top-flight team this quickly, or at any point, would be a strange and potentially negative moment for the Blues. Nevertheless, let’s briefly discuss the EPL clubs that want to sign Pulisic. First of all, PoL spoke about Newcastle United’s connection to the wingman yesterday, as we outlined our opinion on three others the Magpies want from Tuchel’s team. Meanwhile, The Telegraph claim there is an attempt from Manchester United to persuade CFC to allow the USA star to join them on loan.

Chelsea’s perfect contract plan for Mason Mount, Reece James and Armando Broja

I just simply cannot see a temporary switch to Old Trafford happening because the outcome would effectively strengthen a rival. Everyone knows that the Red Devils are struggling to make any signings of real significance, and this appears to be another desperate effort, or at least a stretch.

Moving on to re-signing now, with some potentially exciting news. When I joined Pride of London as an editor in April, the west London club could not extend any existing agreements due to sanctions, as you will be aware. I said then that negotiating with Reece James and Mason Mount was essential. Incomings were needed and completed, which was naturally the outfit’s priority.

Obviously the aforementioned pair still have a couple of years left on their current deals, respectively, so there is no rush, according to reports. Yet guaranteeing the standout performers’ continued allegiance to Chels’ remains inescapable, in my view. Fans, and hopefully the ownership, wish for the England international duo to be content on Fulham Road, therefore pay rises are overdue as well as deserved.

There are interesting reports emerging concerning James, Mount and Armando Broja. And the story has two parts, not merely relating to the prospective vastly extended contracts. There is also an explanation of the fresh, ‘American-style’ approach to ensure high calibre talent stays at the Bridge.

Beginning with the promising updates that the trio will massively increase the time they spend with CFC, the extensions might perhaps be as long as six years with an option for a further 12 months. Wow. Imagine tying them down until nearly 2030, all being well.

This measure has been previously employed by Chels chairman Todd Boehly’s American counterparts in his other sporting capacity. The policy aims to lock players under-25 into long-term commitments for the safety of the club’s future.
