USMNT star Christian Pulisic could get more game time under Graham Potter and it could be as attacking wing-back. The 23-year-old winger failed to nail down a spot in the Blues’ starting XI while Thomas Tuchel was in charge, but this could actually be a different story under Potter. Pulisic often found himself on the bench during Tuchel’s reign at Stamford Bridge. This season, he was named in the German’s first XI just once before his dismissal.

Pulisic was injured a lot during Tuchel’s spell in charge as Chelsea manager. Simply put, the £150,000-a-week American was not available for every match, so it was hard to give him a run and the opportunity to try and find rhythm and form. Also, when Pulisic was given opportunities, he did not always deliver. In fact, Tuchel was very critical of one of his displays last season, where he missed such an easy chance against Leicester City.

With Tuchel no longer at the club, though, this could be a chance at redemption for Pulisic who the fans and board hope will be able to pick up more minutes under Potter. Whereas the likes of Jorginho – who has proven the fanbase wrong a lot of times – and Hakim Ziyech are likely to struggle in this new look Chelsea under Potter, Pulisic is one player who could thrive following this managerial change starting with UCL game against Salzburg on Wednesday.
