I’m hesitant to bet on the 2020/21 European Champions with still so little football played under the new manager, but -125 moneyline odds are honestly pretty solid value. It’s definitely under consideration as the number moves ahead of kickoff.

Earlier, I alluded to the fact that contests with the Eagles are historically straightforward for Chelsea, which may have been the understatement of the century. The Blues absolutely own this fixture. Palace hasn’t beaten its crosstown rivals since October 2017, when Zaha glided between Davide Zappacosta and Cesar Azpilicueta to score the winner in what turned out to be the beginning of a disastrous season at Stamford Bridge. Let’s hope for a different outcome this time around.

One consistent trend of Chelsea’s dominance over Palace has been a sturdy back line, both at home and on the road. The Eagles only scored more than once in one of their previous ten meetings with the side from west London, all of which were losses. This Blues defense is not nearly as stout as those of the past, though, having already conceded nine times in six Premier League matches.
