With another international window now in the rearview mirror, the Chelsea Women return to the pitch, seeking to maintain the momentum added from a critical win over Manchester United on the road.

For the first time since 2019, the Blues return to Stamford Bridge to do battle with their London rivals, Tottenham Hotspur, but this time, all the general admission tickets have been sold out. It demonstrates the progress of this club in the women’s game, and while an appearance for Emma Hayes’ side at the Bridge was delayed during the first week of the season, CFCW are going to get to play in an environment this team rightfully deserves.

The injury to Pernille Harder on the international level creates a little worry among the club, but just like the coaching staff did for Hayes, it is always a next-person-up mentality. A suspected hamstring injury to the Danish attacker adds to her unfortunate luck early on this season. Sophie Ingle and Erin Cuthbert aim to continue their run of form together in the middle of the pitch, having dictated the middle of the park against both Manchester United and Aston Villa.

Bethany England netted the only Chels’ goal at the Bridge, but Sam Kerr and Lauren James seek to add to their highlight reel in on a stage neither of them have seen before. Even without Harder on the left flank, the Blues have the task to take down Rehanne Skinner and her inconsistent Tottenham side in what is bound to be one unique environment in the Chelsea Women’s second match at Stamford Bridge in club history. Over nine matches in all competitions, the Blues have yet to lose to Spurs starting back in 2017 when CFCW defeated its rivals 4-1 in the club’s first-ever meeting.
