Chelsea are apparently leading the transfer race to capture West Ham United and England midfielder Declan Rice. Meanwhile three Premier League clubs reportedly want to sign potential outgoing Blues winger, Christian Pulisic.

Would Rice be the ideal footballer to enhance and anchor the CFC midfield for years to come? Possibly. He is among a number of world-class defensive midfield performers who could make a difference; Rice’s impact may only be successful with a partner in a double pivot or duo.

So what’s the latest on the Hammers star? Well, journalist Simon Phillips is quoted as saying the 23-year-old wants to leave London Stadium this summer. In addition to that, and more importantly, Rice would hypothetically select Chels’ and reject other potential suitors.

Whilst the United States National Team await the most crucial of matches against Group B competitors, Iran, the USMNT squad know that only a win means progression to the initial knockout round of the World Cup. Defeat to the Iranians means elimination for Pulisic’s side, as does drawing.

USA’s vibrant and exciting XI threatened England in the two’s stalemate, though a cutting edge alluded the Americans. The latter team will mature and shall eventually become quite a force to be reckoned with at international level, in my humble opinion. Pulisic’s dribbling and threat was partially praised against the Three Lions, yet I feel the player can and should arguably offer more for club and country.

In the meantime, the Blue’s name is constantly connected with an exit from Stamford Bridge in January. To be honest, the likelihood of a New Year departure for an athlete of his stature is not strong. The 24-year-old is far more likely to leave at the end of the present season.

Florian Plettenberg has backed the previous assertion. Sky Sport Germany’s reporter claims he was told that the forward wishes to remain on Fulham Road for the remainder of the current campaign, whilst his career plan is devised. Although, if a “great and interesting offer” transpired after the World Cup, the USA star’s head may be turned; that imaginary situation is described as “unlikely”, however.

Another report suggests that Premier League outfits Manchester United and Newcastle United will battle it out for Pulisic, along with Arsenal. Meanwhile, Plettenberg declares rumours about Borussia Dortmund’s interest as incorrect; Man United and Newcastle’s admiration is also ‘not hot’, respectively.
