Reports are starting to emerge claiming that recently fit again Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana is injured again after the Blues played Brentford in a friendly.

Fofana may end up as an ideal signing. But, unfortunately, the transfer can never be described as ‘perfect’ because of the fairly serious injury sustained soon after he joined Chelsea. Whilst not amicable in any way, the fashion in which he left Leicester was questionable, too. Although, signing such a quality young player who was obviously so determined to join is a plus. Hopefully the news isn’t the latest setback for the Frenchman.

After presumably watching his country lose the World Cup Final to Argentina on Sunday, Fofana appeared for Graham Potter’s team in a friendly versus Premier League rivals Brentford. The Blues were 5-1 winners; Kai Havertz netted a hat-trick. World Cup stars and younger players were involved; oddly, the practice game consisted of ‘three 45 minutes’ thirds, which offered more minutes to the two rosters.

At present, the only known facts about Fofana’s status are that he was withdrawn through injury and looked upset as he left the pitch. The severity of the problem is unknown at the moment.

Chelsea monitoring 17-year-old with €100million release clause

Over the weekend, The Pride of London covered talk that West Ham United defensive midfielder Declan Rice is a more probable signing for the west London outfit than Borussia Dortmund central midfielder Jude Bellingham. Either of the England stars would be top notch captures, though a creative player is clearly needed in the middle.

In addition to those stories, the Blues have apparently sealed the transfer of Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig. The versatile and skilful striker will surely be a fine acquisition at CFC.

Then, most recently, two more links appeared: Piero Hincapie and Moises Caicedo. The Ecuadorian pair were at the World Cup with their countries and are, presumably, respectively being tracked by Chels’.

Finally the latest claim is that the Blues want a 17-year-old with a €100million release clause: Vitor Roque. The Brazilian footballing prodigy plays for Athletico Paranaense. Major teams such as Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona are also interested in the forward.
