It genuinely feels like Chelsea can’t win a football match right now. Actually, scratch that. It genuinely feels like CFC can’t score a goal right now, much less win a football match. The Blues have been in relegation form since the beginning of November, winning only twice and scoring merely six goals in those five months. Graham Potter is reportedly under serious pressure to get a result against Leeds United this weekend, or risk being the pride’s second managerial casualty of the season. I don’t know if sacking him would even make a difference, but the team simply cannot continue to lose games week in and week out. The defeats are noticeably affecting the players’ mentalities at this point. The negative aura surrounding Stamford Bridge must dissipate before the start of the 2023/24 campaign.

On the bright side, making picks has become slightly easier over the past few weeks. The Blues’ inability to create big chances has made their attack nearly unwatchable, while a sturdy back line has largely helped to neutralize the opposition’s strikers as well. Betting unders is definitely a smart strategy, and one that I’ll be following until Chelsea can find the back of the net with any sort of consistency. I have the unfortunate feeling that won’t happen while Potter is still on the touchline, and especially not this time out against a similarly toothless collection of forwards on Leeds United. Of course, the Whites absolutely hammered the Blues, 3-0, when they met back in August, so perhaps we’ll be subject to yet another humiliating defeat.
