Chelsea legend Frank Leboeuf has made a transfer suggestion to the west London club. He thinks two Blues stars should be sold in order to definitely secure Joao Felix. While The Pride of London wholeheartedly agree that the Portuguese is one of the few bright elements of a particularly dull season, the two potential leavers are worth careful consideration.

If you are too young to remember Leboeuf in his prime at Chels‘, let me tell you that he was a classy operator. Not to mention his ferocity in the challenge when necessary and possible. Mixing mental awareness with delicious, delicate and intricate football, the centreback was pretty much revolutionary in the Premier League at the time. Around 25 or so years on from the Frenchman’s introduction to the English game, the Portugal international is also making waves in a Blue shirt.

Leboeuf believes that struggling CFC men Mason Mount and Christian Pulisic would be better used to fund Felix’s permanent switch to England’s capital. To be candid, I think the 55-year-old is probably right. Removing unnecessary wages by selling underperforming players who still command high fees whilst swapping for higher quality feels almost obvious.

Chelsea set to appoint the leader in his field

The sacking of head CFC groundsman Jason Griffin and his son Reisse made the headlines this week. Now that area is back in the news, with the Blues supposedly ready to make a new and significant appointment. Leader in his field, Paul Burgess – with the pun seemingly unintended by Mirror Sport – might be taking over at Stamford Bridge.

Burgess formerly held high profile positions in the role at English Premier League club Arsenal, along with Spanish giants Real Madrid; he left Madrid in 2020. Meanwhile Griffin was on Fulham Road for 20 years. It is said that Blues ownership is ‘determined’ to install premium staff in all parts of the west London outfit.
