Why Chelsea should sell him: He will return a hefty fee, which the club needs—and we already have Mason Mount.

This one is a matter of business more than anything. Gallagher is young with seemingly endless energy and devotion to give his all on the pitch. The chaos he creates can sometimes yield great results (see: his lucky goal against Brighton, his entire season on loan at Crystal Palace).

But in a squad where we need to sell players to generate money, Conor is unfortunately the odd man out. Many clubs are eyeing him and a fee of $40million or $50m on his transfer is too hard to pass up.

It’s been reported that likely new Chelsea coach ‘Poch’ loves him some Mason Mount. Gallagher and him play the same position, and I think given Mount’s history with success in the first team, he wins.

While the 23-year-old leaving might be something we regret later, I think his departure is the safer of the two. Watching Mount star for Liverpool for the next five seasons would be a pretty tough pill to swallow. Sorry, ‘Con’, you can still be great, just not here.
