Arguing on the bench between stars, regrets over signing for the Blues, no friendship in the squad – The Pride of London discuss Chelsea Football Club in disarray and how to approach a turnaround after the latest accusations.

This is getting silly for CFC now. First of all, let’s address this headline from a few days ago: “Chelsea’s new signings ‘regret signing long term deals'”. After the season undertaken, who could blame these footballers, eh?! Well, me actually: many, most, if not all incoming Blues players have been poor, inept or very slow in taking to the Premier League. We all raised eyebrows as we saw six and seven year contracts handed out in an untested project. It seemed shrewd all round at the time. The position everyone is now in at the club is essentially No man’s land.

Secondly, the suggestions made by ex-Blue Emmanuel Petit were fairly shocking. We knew there was disharmony in west London – but this is ridiculous.

"Chelsea players were arguing on the bench at Arsenal and there’s ‘no friendship’ in a team that ‘twenty managers’ couldn’t fix– Paraphrase of Petit quote"

Substitutes arguing, regrets over signing, no friendship – Chelsea is in undeniable disarray

The definition of omnishambles is: “a situation that has been comprehensively mismanaged, characterised by a string of blunders and miscalculations”, and there is now a photograph of Stamford Bridge from this season next to the description. I’m only joking, naturally. Maintaining a sense of humour is the sole way Blues fans will survive this torturous campaign, I assure you.

How can ownership, managerial successors and the athletes themselves – whoever they’ll even be in 2023/24 is anyone’s guess right now – resolve this situation? Um, that is a difficult question. A perplexing poser. Basically there needs to be an entire shake-up of the outfit, again, like when Roman Abramovich left. But this time Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali must install the correct personnel. Transfer recruitment has been ruined, so has to be rethought and restructured entirely.

Reviving the former dogma which enabled CFC sides to flourish over nearly three decades is key. They were principles such as: commitment, respect, due diligence, faith in teammates, entertainment, quality over everything. Ultimately, playing for the badge is required!
