It is a meeting between two teams on completely different ends of the spectrum. Leicester is fighting for its WSL life for the second straight campaign, two points ahead of Reading at the bottom of the table with a game in hand over the Royals. With Kelly Chambers’ side having an extremely winnable match on Saturday against Tottenham, the Foxes need to make the path to safety even more difficult.

The Royals’ last contest this season is against the Blues, so they will feel that this upcoming weekend clash at Spurs is going to be critical if they intend on leapfrogging the Foxes before the end of the league campaign. Despite having a much improved defensive record in the WSL, Leicester sits dead last in goals scored at 13 in 19 matches. That can even be taken with a grain of salt given this club beat Liverpool at home 4-0 in late April.

The Foxes went through a stretch from February to the end of March where the team netted just two goals in six games across all competitions. In four contests against the west London outfit in the past, LCFC has never once found the back of the net.

Given the form of the Blues’ frontline right now, the Foxes may need to break down a defense that has allowed just two goals in their last five fixtures. Just two players on their roster have more than one goal so far in the league, and one of them is 19-year-old Welsh forward Carrie Jones who has bagged two goals in her last three WSL contests.
