Lampard’s Chelsea finally picked their first win after continued struggles. The young Blues brushed aside Bournemouth in a 3-1 away victory at the Vitality Stadium where they had failed to win since 2017. Conor Gallagher, Benoit Badiashile and Joao Felix got their names on the scoresheet and secured the three points late in the game.
Chelsea will now host Nottingham Forest at the Stamford Bridge hoping to pick their second consecutive win. Although there isn’t much left to play for, the west Londeners will hope to finish the season on a respectable note while giving their young prospects a chance to prove their metal with the likes of Noni Madueke, Mykhailo Mudryk and Benoit Badiashile already impressing their Chelsea supporters.
Ben Chilwell who picked an injury in the second half against the Cherries might have played his last game for the season. Marc Cucurella, Kalidou Kouliably, Mason Mount and Reece James won’t feature either. Armando Broja is back training individually and although he is back on the grass earlier than his predicted return, it might be too late in the season for him to get back in the playing XI. However, Wesley Fofana should be back in contention.
Chelsea predicted lineup vs Nottingham Forrest (3-4-3)
Goalkeeper: Kepa Arrizabalaga (No. 1)
The Spaniard yet again impressed the fanbase at the Vitality Stadium with his acrobatics between the sticks. Chelsea are however in the news for looking at potential replacements for an upgrade in this role and although Arrizabalaga isn’t concerned about his playing time for the remainder of the season, he needs to be at his best to avoid serving as deputy to Chelsea’s first choice goalkeeper next season.
