Ever since the historic Champions League victory over Manchester City at Estadio do Dragao in the final of the UEFA Champions League in 2021, Chelsea have not managed to pick a win against Pep Guardiola’s men losing the last five meetings in all competitions without scoring a single goal.

The Cityzens will be in a bouyant mood after eliminating Spanish giants Real Madrid from the UCL midweek and booking their spot at Istanbul. And after already beating CFC thrice this season, Manchester City will now host Chelsea at the Ethiad Stadium where they would hope to officially seal the Premier League title.

Chelsea on the other hand will be hoping to get over with this season as soon as possible with a hectic summer in sight. But the hapless Blues’ last three fixtures are all scheduled against teams from the top four.

Although there isn’t anything left to play for, the west Londeners will definietly want to finish the season on a respectable note. These games could also tend to be decisive for Lampard as he will be out of a job when Mauricio Pochettino takes over. And after struggling since his return to the Bridge, continued poor performances in the last three games could make life after Chelsea difficult for him.

Chelsea predicted lineup vs Manchester City (3-5-2)

Goalkeeper: Kepa Arrizabalaga (No. 1)

Edouard Mendy was given the nod in goal against Nottingham Forrest and he had a pretty sub standard outing which is understandable considering the amount of competitive football he has played over the last few moths. And Lampard might not want to risk putting him out there again against a side who put four goals past Thibaut Courtois mid week.
