The Pride of London talk about the incredible fitness levels that Mauricio Pochettino expects or even demands from his Chelsea players as he stamps his authority on the Blues squad.

Pochettino is having a great impact at Stamford Bridge, or Cobham, according to The Athletic. He has ‘transformed’ the mood of the CFC roster, along with overseeing a drastic change in the standard of training.

‘Token’ gym appearances from Chels’ athletes as well as departing early are no longer issues. The Gacon test is the most intriguing aspect, as you can read here.

Chelsea have been deterred by Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic’s high wages but are still pursuing Brighton & Hove Albion man Moises Caicedo

The west London side are reportedly monitoring the situation of Vlahovic. And who can blame them? They require a marquee striker and only spending huge money will appease the majority of their fan base. But I am unconvinced that the striker is in fact the striker that is needed. Yes, his record is impressive, if not amazing. Yet Pochettino needs amazing as he rebuilds almost from scratch but with the tools and funding to succeed.

In the meantime, Vlahovic’s salary is putting off the CFC recruitment department. The view from the Bridge on the money the Serbia international earns is ‘prohibitive‘ in the apparent pursuit. The English capital club are currently ‘restructuring’ their wage tiers so justifying some of these acquisitions is proving difficult.

It is claimed that capturing the 23-year-old is ‘a signing too far’ with Paris Saint-Germain looking on too. However, Blues supporters will be pleased to hear that their team are not out of the race for Caicedo. The Seagulls are notoriously tough negotiators, which typically explains the protracted length of negotiations. Though an £80million offer is thought to be incoming for the seasiders’ prized midfield asset.
