Predicted Chelsea XI vs Aston Villa: Mudryk starts again in 4-2-3-1
Raheem Sterling (Right winger) No. 7, England
Sterling has also been one of the Blues’ better players this season. He leads the scoring chart for Chels’ in the league with two goals. His dribbling has been much better this season, completing more at a higher rate than last season. He has definitely been one of the positives from this bleak start to the season.
Enzo Fernandez (Central attacking midfielder) No. 8, Argentina
The question was asked during the preseason if the Argentina midfielder could become the chief creator CFC needed, and it was decided that he’d have to be, whether he was capable of performing the role or not. Pochettino has placed Fernandez in the No. 10 position for five games this season, and so far, all that can be gathered, is that the former Benfica midfielder is many things, but an attacking midfielder is not one of them.
Mykhailo Mudryk (Left winger) No. 10, Ukraine
Mudryk has divided opinion in the fan base, to the point where fans have found it difficult to agree on whether the Ukraine international had a good game or not against Bournemouth. He did. Pochettino has to decide what he wants to do with the Blues’ new No. 10 because many expected that the former Tottenham manager would be perfect for the talented young players in the squad while agreeing that the winger was in desperate need of coaching. It is then strange that Pochettino decided to sideline Mudryk in favor of playing a left back as a forward.
Nicolas Jackson (Center forward) No. 15, Senegal
Jackson has actually been very good this season, it’s just very difficult to admit that when he has one goal in a blue shirt while ranking second in the league for big chances missed. There’s good news though. Jackson has scored one goal from the last seven big chances provided for him. But that is not so damning, as one of the best finishers in the game, Erling Haaland, has in fact scored one goal from the last 10 significant opportunities provided for him.
