Chelsea star Moises Caicedo’s possible issue will have to be assessed before the Blues meet Newcastle United at St. James’ Park, according to head coach Mauricio Pochettino. Meanwhile CFC are apparently bracing themselves for a transfer battle with two Premier League rivals in order to sign £80million-£100m rated Brentford striker Ivan Toney. Is the Englishman worth in the region of that staggering amount – nearly a tenth of a billion pounds?! Is Victor Osimhen the better option even at a similar overall cost and with presumably higher wages?

Pochettino confirmed that Reece James will start versus Newcastle on Saturday. Hopefully the captain can stay fit now.

There is, however, a concern with Caicedo. ‘Poch’ was vague, yet verified that the Ecuadorian must be assessed prior to the fixture.

The latest on Chelsea’s apparent chase for Ivan Toney is interesting, yet supposed updates bring us no closer to knowing an outcome with potentially better options available

Alright, let’s talk Toney – again. Essentially most reports or outlets appear to outright claim or heavily suggest that he is the top transfer target at Stamford Bridge. The 27-year-old is said to be increasingly likely to leave the Bees; CFC face competition from Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur for the signature. Although, I believe Toney’s valuation might deter all interest. While one or two journalists have named Osimhen as the most wanted man at the Bridge.

I have been giving this matter a lot of thought over the last few days, maybe weeks. Maybe too much considering. Irrespective of my time being well spent or otherwise, choosing between the pair of prospective new Blues is not easy, for obvious reasons. Both are exceptionally talented. Nonetheless, I have decided on Osimhen: his prowess and impact is more frequent and he carries an allure that used to encapsulate Chelsea players when the club was regularly winning trophy.
