Chelsea's transfer business is always fun to comment on. These last few years - well, basically since lockdown - we have seen Chelsea sign and sell a number of players, and it has brought them some success on and off the field.

Particularly since Enzo Maresca's arrival, there have been plenty of ingoings and outgoings depending on what the manager wants to work with. Maresca wanted a deep, talented squad, and after Chelsea's work on the transfer deadline day, he has it now.

One of their latest signings was the arrival of Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United for a fee of around 50 million pounds. It was completed after weeks of back and forth from the two clubs, but the one thing that stayed consistent throughout was Garnacho's will to join Chelsea no matter what.

That has now happened, and Chelsea fans were quick enough to quietly realise one slight detail about Garnacho, and it has sent fans into a frenzy.

On Garnacho's FBref page, it says the player he is most similar to is actually Noni Madueke, the English winger who left Chelsea for Arsenal in the same transfer window.

There are many similarities between Madueke and Garnacho

The biggest differences between the two players is that Garnacho is right footed, while Madueke is a left-footed player. Garnacho's best position is on the left, and Madueke's is on the right.

That is obviously a huge difference to have, but as players, they both are kind of similar, at least according to FBref. They are both quick. They both like to shoot a lot with the ball and take players on - Garnacho is in the 98th percentile for most shots for wingers / attacking midfielders, and in the 96th percentile for most progressive carries as well, with 5.75.

On the other hand, Madueke is in the 98th percentile for most progressive carries with 6.79, and 90th perecentile for shots, with 3.26. They may be a bit different stylistically, but those statistics scream the same things, and it is important to note.

For Chelsea, they kind of needed a left-winger more than a right-winger. Their right was solid already, with Pedro Neto, Estevao Willian are great choices, while Cole Palmer can also play there.

They have brought in a number of players for the other wing, with Garnacho and Jamie Gittens coming in from different clubs, and Tyrique George being another brilliant academy player.

Now, they are a bit more balanced on both sides, and it should help Maresca and his team in the long run.
