Who would Chelsea's dream striker be? If you asked the supporters, a good portion would probably say Alexander Isak. The 25-year-old has been phenomenal for Newcastle United. He scored 27 goals last season and 25 the one before that. And one would imagine that those numbers will only go up if he joins one of European football's giants. Sorry, Magpies fans.

There has been a real uncertainty around his situation this season. And now, as reported by Sky Sports, Isak has informed Newcastle United that he wants to explore his options this transfer window.

It might not be something that the Magpies want. But according to Fabrizio Romano, Newcastle United have already restarted exploring a move for a top striker.

Chelsea are believed to be in talks to sign Xavi Simons right now. But the Isak opportunity might be too good to pass on. Also, the timing might be perfect for them as it is just recently that Liverpool completed a move for Hugo Ekitike. What is the Blues' stance on the matter?

As reported by The Independent, Chelsea may consider a move for Isak. The Blues do have budget left to the figure of around £100 million. But this would also require a deviation from recent targets.

So, what if Chelsea drop their interest in Simons, have Joao Pedro in that role and go all out for Isak? They still have players like Joao Felix, Christopher Nkunku and more, who could leave and expand the budget further. On paper, it does make sense.

Isak is Premier League-proven. And while he does have his fitness issues, there is no doubt that he is a phenomenal striker who would improve Chelsea. The Blues also have the necessary depth to ease his workload.
