Chelsea have been busy in the transfer window with three new signings already completed. However, the club are still going strong with a number of deals in the pipeline, including Jorrel Hato and Xavi Simons. Additionally, the Blues have also been parting with a number of underperforming players to create space for the new arrivals and also to balance their books.

Several players like Noni Madueke, Djordje Petrovic, along with youngsters like Mathis Amougou, have already left the club. And it looks like there’s more to come, are RB Leipzig is reportedly interested in signing a Chelsea midfielder away from Stamford Bridge and have already made contact.

According to Florian Plettenberg, RB Leipzig are now pushing to sign Carney Chukwuemeka. They have opened talks over the central midfielder.

Chukwuemeka joined Chelsea from Aston Villa in 2022. However, the youngster has failed to cement his place in the starting XI. And one couldn’t blame him, given the quality of midfielders the Blues currently possess.

The 21-year-old appeared in just five matches for Chelsea in the first half of last season. In the latter part of the campaign, he was sent on loan to Borussia Dortmund, who were also linked with the player recently for another loan spell. However, the Blues are only looking for a permanent move of Chukwuemeka, and Leipzig have appeared as a potential next destination for the midfielder.

Interestingly, the Blues are also interested in Leipzig’s Simons, who is believed to be closing in on a move to Stamford Bridge. So, although there have been no talks of a swap deal as of now, there lies a possibility in case both the deals go through.

Chukwuemeka is not in Enzo Maresca’s plans moving forward, and it’s now only a matter of time before he finds a new club. Whether that club are Leipzig or somewhere else remains to be seen.
