Chelsea look set for another huge summer rebuild ahead of Xabi Alonso officially arriving on July 1.
Chelsea’s disastrous campaign ended without European football, several high-profile players are already facing uncertain futures and there is growing expectation that a lot of changes will take place both in and out over the next few months.
Alonso will undoubtedly inherit a fractured dressing room which he will need to sort out from the get-go .
Despite the Spaniard yet to take charge full time, there are already plenty of signs that several players want out with the latest being goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen.
Filip Jorgensen wants to leave Chelsea this summer
According to BBC Sport, Jorgensen has informed head of global goalkeeping Ben Roberts that he wants to leave the club this summer in search of regular first-team football.
The goalkeeper only joined Chelsea from Villarreal CF in 2024 for £20.7 million but now appears unconvinced he'll get the required playing time at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea’s goalkeeper situation has been a sticking point for quite some time, with both Jorgensen and Robert Sanchez both struggling to make the number one jersey their own.
And the uncertainty surrounding how Alonso will play, and how, only raises more questions for the likes of Jorgensen.
Because while the former Bayer Leverkusen boss is expected to want a goalkeeper who is comfortable building play from the back, it seems neither Jorgensen, nor Sanchez are that sort of player.
And sitting on the bench next season isn't something the 24-year-old is prepared to do, so unsurprisingly, another exit is now very much on the cards.
Latest player to want out
Jorgensen is also not the first Chelsea player recently linked with wanting to leave the club.
Enzo Fernandez has informed Chelsea he wants to join Real Madrid this summer, while recent reports have also claimed the midfielder is refusing to discuss signing a new contract.
There is also speculation Marc Cucurella could be heading to La Liga with Atletico Madrid among the clubs interested.
Then there is Cole Palmer. The 24-year-old remains heavily linked with a move back to Manchester with both United and former club City mentioned in reports.
Clearly multiple players have uncertain futures at Stamford Bridge and that highlights the scale of the rebuild Alonso faces when he officially arrives.
During his two years with the Blues, Jorgensen, who has five years left on his contract, has featured in 36 games in all competitions, keeping 11 clean sheets.
