Arsenal are no strangers to signing veteran players from Chelsea. Over the years, they have signed the likes of Petr Cech, David Luiz, Raheem Sterling, Jorginho and more. Now, it looks like Mikel Arteta's side might look to bring in another player from the Stamford Bridge outfit and he is available for a bargain release clause.

Chelsea have faced a lot of criticism for their transfer business since the change in ownership, focusing solely on signing talented youngsters and completely overlooking experience. The results on the pitch have not come close to matching the investment that has been made into the squad.

That does not mean that they did not get things wrong under previous ownership. Arguably, the worst deal of that era was signing Kepa Arrizabalaga for a record €80 million fee from Athletic Bilbao.

Kepa never met expectations at Chelsea. He made 163 appearances in five seasons, never really impressing and has spent the past two campaigns out on loan, at Real Madrid and Bournemouth respectively.

As reported by Luca Bendoni, Arsenal are considering a potential deal for Kepa. He is available for a £5 million release clause.

Kepa would clearly be a backup option if he ends up joining Arsenal. Of course, anything that Chelsea can get out of the Spaniard's exit right now has to be considered a bonus for the Blues.

The goalkeeping situation has never been stable at Chelsea since Thibaut Courtois left in the summer of 2018 to join Real Madrid. That's seven years' worth of underwhelming signings, except for one fantastic season from Edouard Mendy.

Chelsea have been linked with a move for Mike Maginan in recent days. It remains to be seen if they are able to reach an agreement with AC Milan over a deal.
