Chelsea are expected to strengthen their squad before the start of next season, especially with the Champions League on the horizon. The Blues have already secured their first addition of the season, Liam Delap from Ipswich Town. The official announcement has already made. The club is now targeting a right-footed winger.

Alejandro Garnacho has been linked with a move to Chelsea for quite some time now and he certainly fits the profile the Blues are looking for. Serie A side Napoli is also said to be interested in securing the 20-year-old’s signature.

However, the Blues seem to be in the driver's seat for this deal if recent reports are to be believed. According to The Sun, Garnacho has made Chelsea his number one choice. He has instructed his agent to make clear to Enzo Maresca that he wants to remain in the Premier League.

It appears that Garnacho wants to be a worldwide star. The best place to do that right now is the Premier League.

Garnacho is considered one of the highest-rated youngsters in the world. However, this season he has struggled to find his form, registering just six goals and two assists in the Premier League.

Manchester United are believed to be looking for around £50 million for the winger, although they may have to expectations given that the Argentine international is not in Ruben Amorim’s plans for the future. Also, the hype surrounding him is not what it used to be.

His preference to remain in England makes Chelsea a likely destination, should the club decide to offer the youngster a fresh start to showcase his talent. For now, it does look like they prefer other targets like Jamie Gittens. But things can change very quickly in the world of football, that's for sure.
