On Wednesday, Chelsea won 4-1 against Real Betis to get their hands on the Conference League. The Blues have now won every UEFA trophy and, in the process, have also turned their season around. What was slated to be a disappointing campaign has been salvaged by Enzo Maresca's side in the last few weeks.

They have now won a European trophy this season and have also secured their place in the Champions League with a fourth-place finish in the Premier League. At the start of the campaign, most fans would have been quite happy if offered that.

The Blues will now aim to build upon this success and will need some reinforcements to do so effectively. With summer window not too far away, Chelsea are already making the news for their transfer activity.

They have already agreed a deal to sign Liam Delap from Ipswich Town. And while the club’s primary focus is to strengthen both the backline and attacking positions, they are keeping an eye on midfield reinforcements as well.

Chelsea make 'important offer' to Scudetto-winning Napoli midfielder

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Chelsea have made an “important offer” to Napoli midfielder Frank Anguissa. There is also a clause in his contract which allows him to evaluate this option independently.

Anguissa has been instrumental in Napoli’s Scudetto win this season. He appeared in 35 Serie A matches, scoring six goals and providing five assists.

There’s no doubt that the Cameroon international is a quality player. At 29 years of age, he would add experience to Chelsea's midfield. And he has played in the Premier League in the past with Fulham.

However, given Chelsea’s roster of high-profile midfielders including Enzo Fernandez, Cole Palmer, Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo, it seems highly unlikely that Anguissa would break into the starting XI. It is also noteworthy that the Blues are preparing to welcome their promising youngster Andrey Santos, who has turned some heads himself this season while on loan at Strasbourg.

Therefore, this rumour should be taken with a pinch of salt, as the experienced midfielder would likely avoid moving to a club where he has no guarantee of regular first-team football. Especially after playing a key role in Napoli’s Serie A title-winning campaign.
