Chelsea have been one of the busiest clubs in terms of player transfers in recent years. This summer as well, the club are expected to bring in much-needed reinforcements across multiple positions. While the Blues’ plan to bring in a new number 9 is widely known by now, they are also keen on signing a winger, preferably a right-footed one. Reports have linked them with Alejandro Garnacho for a while now.

Manchester United are having their worst season in modern history. They will look to reshuffle the squad next season and will likely offload a number of players who aren’t in Ruben Amorim’s plans for the future.

Garnacho, who has struggled to perform under the new manager, has been told Amorim’s decision regarding the player’s future at the club. And it is good news for Chelsea, if rumours of their interest in signing the Argentine are genuine.

According to The Athletic, Amorim addressed the players at Manchester United's Carrington training ground on Saturday to inform them of his own plans and, in front of the group, of those for Garnacho. The Argentine was told to find a new club.

Chelsea initially tried to sign Garnacho in the winter transfer window but failed to do so. However, this recent incident provides a second opportunity for the Blues to bring the Argentine to Stamford Bridge.

Garnacho has scored 11 goals and provided 10 assists in 58 matches across all competitions this season. For a player not in Amorim's future plans, he has certainly played a lot of football.

The Argentinian winger could cost Chelsea about £60 million, which is on the steep side. Given that supposed asking price, the Blues must be cautious before making any final decisions, as they have spent millions on a plethora of players in recent times, many of whom have failed to perform. The club must ensure that Garnacho doesn’t join that list as well.
