Tuesday, Feburary 25th marked the first ever Clearlake Capital & Blue Co. protest by Chelsea fans since they took over in 2022. As if things couldn't be anymore choatic in Cobham, players were greeted today by hundreds of fans chanting for change at the higher ups. Thankfully, fans saw their Blues take care of business against a far inferior opponent in Southampton, collecting three points and moving back up into the top four.

Keeper and Defenders

Filip Jorgensen – 7: Made a few nice saves and was fairly steady passing wise. Despite that mistake last week, I still think he’s the right choice moving forward.  He was accurate on 100% of his passes (31/31) that were not long balls, going just 4/9 on those. Without a tall and true no.9 as a target some slack can be cut, but those long ball numbers could be better.

Malo Gusto - 6.5: Still missing something. Was good in the buildup to Cucurella’s goal where he was able to burst forward and use his speed, but otherwise, not much to write home about. I still think the positions he’s been asked to play don’t suit him well, but he is much better than the performances he’s been putting up. 89% passing, ZERO chances created, dispossessed three times, 5 recoveries with just 2/8 ground duels won.

Tosin Adarabioyo - 6.5: Nothing too bad, nothing too good. A seamless night for him and Colwill, I thought he ran the point well in Southampton’s half. Offered a reliable and stable contribution, something that was important to this shaky backline. A solid eight clearances was the highlight of his night as he battled the aerial threat from the 6'8" Paul Onuachu.

Levi Colwill - 7: A much-needed confidence boost came in that goal he scored today. Still had a few mistakes defensively, mainly in the first half when he left his man unmarked for a free header. Otherwise, a pretty stress-free night for him, winning the majority of his duels and went 96% passing.
