It remains to be seen how this deadline day will turn out for Chelsea. The move for Fermin Lopez seems to be heading nowhere and if you are hoping for that to go through, perhaps it is time to accept that it is not going to happen. On the other hand, there had been some rumours linking them with a late move for Marc Guehi but if he is to leave Crystal Palace, it is more than likely that he will end up at Liverpool rather than back at his boyhood club.

Of course, deadline day is not all about arrivals. It is about departures as well. And it appears that Chelsea have reached an agreement regarding one.

When Liam Delap got injured in the game against Fulham, Tyrique George was brought on as his replacement. As it turns out, that will be his last appearance ina Chelsea shirt.

As reported by The Athletic, George is set to join Fulham in a permanent transfer from Chelsea. The package for the academy graduate is worth £22 million plus a sell-on clause and the Cottagers have terms in place with the winger on a five-year deal.

George did make quite a few appearances for Chelsea last season. But with the likes of Estevao, Jamie Gittens and Alejandro Garnacho arriving this summer, perhaps he felt that the competition for places was going to be too high to get any meaningful playing time.

So, leaving Chelsea might have felt like the right step for him at this point in his career. And it very well might turn out to be the case.

We can only wish George the best of luck in his next adventure. It is a short trip to Fulham though, so he will always be close to home.
