West Ham United bounced back from their 5-1 defeat at the hands of Chelsea with a 3-0 away win against Nottingham Forest this weekend. The result will certainly take a lot of pressure off Graham Potter, who is one of the likeliest Premier League managers to be shown the exit door this season. Unsurprisingly, the Hammers are looking to make additions before the transfer window closes and it looks like a defender from the Blues is on their radar.
Chelsea have already said goodbye to quite a few players in recent weeks. But with deadline day upon us, the Blues still have a decent bit of work to do.
Of course, the majority of the focus is on potential additions, with names like Fermin Lopez, Marc Guehi, and more being linked with the Blues. But on the other hand, there are still some players who could potentially leave.
Nicolas Jackson is one of them with Marc Guiu being recalled from Sunderland recently. Another is Axel Disasi, another player who has been linked with an exit for months but a solution has not been found for him yet.
West Ham United make deadline day move for €45m Chelsea player
As reported by Jacob Steinberg, West Ham United have asked Chelsea about a loan for Disasi. It remains to be seen if the clubs can come to an agreement on the finances of a deal.
Disasi joined Chelsea from AS Monaco for a transfer fee in the region of €45 million. Capable of playing both at right-back and centre-back, the Frenchman was a key figure for the Blues under the management of Mauricio Pochettino, even though his performance levels have always been shaky.
Since the arrival of Enzo Maresca, he has barely featured though. He spent time out on loan at Aston Villa last season and it remains to be seen if he can head out on a temporary spell before this summer window closes.
