The transfer deadline day is here and the Premier League clubs are gearing up for an eventful few hours of exits and arrivals left, right and centre. Chelsea are still figuring out their striker situation following the injury to Liam Delap in the Fulham matchup. The club have already recalled Marc Guiu from Sunderland and cancelled a loan deal for Nicolas Jackson to Bayern Munich, but a move still not completely ruled out.

Meanwhile, the departures are also sorted for now, barring a few individuals which include Axel Disasi. It is pretty clear that the French international doesn't feature in the club’s long-term vision and even left him out of the Club World Cup squad.

The centre-back, who has been linked with a move away from Chelsea since the start of the summer, is yet to find a new club. Disasi has been linked with plenty of clubs but nothing concrete has materialised out of the speculation.

However, it looks like that might change in the next few hours with clubs looking to make last-minute additions to their squads. According to Kaveh Solhekol, Crystal Palace are considering a late move for Disasi as they look for potential replacements for Marc Guehi.

Crystal Palace could see Marc Guehi leave soon, as their club captain is believed to be keen on a move to Liverpool. As a result, the Eagles will be left with a major void in their backline, which explains their late push for reinforcements.

Disasi spent time out on loan at Aston Villa last season, making just 10 appearances. The Villans decided against signing him permanently, and the player has since returned to Stamford Bridge. The Frenchman hasn’t featured in any matchups since then. Although Levi Colwill will be sidelined for a long time and no new replacement has been brought in, we don’t see his situation changing in terms of game time unless there are further injuries.

Crystal Palace can be an ideal destination for the French centre-back and the move can be beneficial for all parties involved. Will the Eagles succeed in replacing a former Blues defender with another one? It remains to be seen.
