With just ten more days remaining of the winter transfer window, all the clubs have stepped up their transfer operations in order to bolster their squads for the second half of the season. Chelsea are no exception, as there are still a few positions that they particularly need to strengthen in order turn around their faltering campaign. The Blues are currently 6th in the Premier League and 8th in the Champions League standings.

Several players have been linked with a move to Chelsea this month. Among them, they are currently believed to be in negotiations over a deal for Rennes centre-back Jeremy Jacquet, while the Blues have also recalled a few of their loanees such as Caleb Wiley, David Datro Fofana and Teddy Sharman-Lowe. However, amid all this, they have now confirmed a brilliant piece of news.

Chelsea have officially announced that Ibrahim Rabbaj has put pen to paper on his first professional contract. He has committed his future to the Blues until at least 2028.

Rabbaj joined Chelsea as an Under-12 from Crystal Palace and has developed into one of the most highly-regarded talents at Cobham. The 17-year-old's numbers at the youth levels are phenomenal and he is being viewed by many as a future first-team starter.

The Moroccan wonderkid becomes the latest Chelsea academy player to sign a contract this month, following Ryan Kavuma-McQueen and Olutayo Subuloye. Rabbaj is yet to make his first-team debut, but if he maintains his impressive form, he will likely be promoted soon.

In recent years, Chelsea have been successful in promoting several Cobham talents to the first-team. The likes of Reece James, Levi Colwill and Trevoh Chalobah have established themselves as regulars. Mason Mount was viewed as a future captain before his move to Manchester United. Josh Acheampong and Tyrique George are in the mix as well.

As Chelsea supporters, we only hope the best for Rabbaj. Let's hope he is able to add his name to that list very soon.
