The Premier League season has begun, and Chelsea started their campaign with a goalless draw against Crystal Palace. However, they're not done with their transfer operations yet. With less than two weeks left in the summer window, the Blues still have some business left to do, both in terms of incomings and outgoings. As things stand right now for the World Champions, exits have become their top priority in order to fund further arrivals.
There are few players who have been heavily linked with a move away in recent times, one among those is Nicolas Jackson. His future at Stamford Bridge appears uncertain, with a probable exit looming ahead of the transfer deadline.
For the past two years, Jackson has been the starting center-forward for Chelsea. Last season, he played 30 Premier League games and scored 10 goals. Since then, the Blues have signed Joao Pedro and Liam Delap, and he appears to have slid to third in the pecking order as a result.
Jackson, who seeks regular first-team football, is believed to have told Chelsea that he wants to leave this summer, and the Blues are looking into offers. He has been absent from the team since the Club World Cup.
Chelsea set blockbuster Nicolas Jackson transfer price
Although, the Senegal international has a number of suitors, including Newcastle, Aston Villa and more, still no significant progress regarding a move has taken place. Now, a new update has arrived regarding the valuation of the player.
According to a report by The Mirror, Chelsea are ready to green light Jackson's exit for a fee of around £60 million. He is likely to leave before the window closes.
Jackson was initially rated by Chelsea between £80-100m, but that valuation has now fallen to £60m. Although it is unlikely to fall much more, it is still a significant amount of money, especially with so little time left in the window.
