Over the last few months, Chelsea have been linked with a long list of Barcelona players. There was believed to be some interest in Marc Casado at one point. They were linked with Ronald Araujo as well after Levi Colwill's injury. And towards the end of the summer window, they even made a failed offer to sign Fermin Lopez.

The summer transfer window closed just a few weeks ago without Chelsea have signed any of Barcelona's players. But already, it looks like they have another one on their radar.

The player in question is none other than Dro Fernandez. Barcelona have a remarkable record of producing some of the best young talents through La Masia and it looks he is the next big thing to come out of the academy.

As reported by Fichajes, Manchester City and Chelsea are considering figures that could exceed €15 million. The final decision will depend on the ability of Barcelona to convince the player that his immediate future should remain at Camp Nou.

It looks like Barcelona are already doing their best to convince Fernandez that Camp Nou is the best place for his development. He recently made his debut for the club, in the game against Real Sociedad.

Even though he is just 17 years of age, it feels like a long time coming. He has been one of the brightest talents in La Masia for a while and showed his quality in pre-season as well.

It is not hard to understand why Chelsea might be keen to sign him. They seem to be interested in pretty much every rising talent in world football although there are doubts about the club's ability to nurture these talents and turn them into world-class players one day.

Just look at the players they have coming through their own academy right now. Josh Acheampong is viewed as someone who can be a top-quality senior-level player one day. And yet, despite the injury crisis in defence, he has barely gotten any chances.

So, it might turn out to be a straightforward choice for someone like Fernandez. Stay at Barcelona, who have promoted the likes of Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsi into nailed-on starters in recent years. Or head to Chelsea, who might not even be a top-four team this season. Not when you consider their recent run of form.
