Even though Chelsea have signed Liam Delap this summer, there is a belief that the club could try to add another forward to their ranks before the transfer window closes. Nicolas Jackson is their other option but he has failed to establish himself as the Blues' first-choice number 9 over the past two seasons. They will probably assess their striker situation at the Club World Cup before making a decision.

It had looked like Hugo Ekitike was Chelsea's first-choice target at striker. But with Eintracht Frankfurt believed to be looking for a €100 million fee, the Blues might need to turn their sights elsewhere.

That is the type of fee you pay for a proven world-class striker. Not someone with the potential to develop into one, and plenty of holes still in his game.

On the other hand, as reported by Valentin Furlan, eight teams have contacted Victor Osimhen in the last few days. They are Galatasaray, Juventus, PSG, Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal, AC Milan, and Real Madrid. The striker is in no rush to decide his future.

Osimhen has been linked with a move to Chelsea for years now. Is this the summer when that transfer finally takes place?

Chelsea were believed to be very close to signing Osimhen last summer. But it believes that the player's salary proved to be an obstacle that they could not overcome.

Ultimately, Osimhen ended up spending the season on loan at Galatasaray. He scored 37 goals for them in just 41 appearances.

Now, the team are in the Champions League and the Club World Cup. They might have a lot more wiggle room. And someone like Osimhen could prove to be the difference between challenging for the Premier League and being stuck in a top four race again.
