Chelsea have focused on signing some of the best young talents from around the world in recent years. That saw them secure the signing of Estevao. The Brazilian is considered the best talent to come out of South America since Neymar. And he will get the chance to announce himself on the global stage at the Club World Cup, where he will represent Palmeiras before making the move to Stamford Bridge.

It is worth remembering though that Estevao is not the only generational South American talent that Chelsea have signed in recent times. Another is Kendry Paez, who has already arrived at the club.

Surprisingly, the club decided not to include him in the Club World Cup squad. That move raised a lot of eyebrows and is believed to have not gone down well with Paez and his camp.

As reported by The Chelsea Chronicle, Simon Phillips said on Si Phillips Talks Chelsea that Paez’s agent “took some steps” that made things get “very heated and tense” at one point. It resulted in the club making a U-turn and taking the player to America to train.

Paez will be with the Chelsea squad at the Club World Cup. But he still won't be able to take part in the competition, as he was not registered.

Honestly, it was a confusing decision on the part of Chelsea. Especially as players like Dario Essugo and Mamadou Sarr, also new signings, were included.

Paez is expected to spend the season out on loan. He is set to be sent out to Strasbourg. It should be a great opportunity for the youngster to establish himself in Europe and play for a top-level French club. Just look at how well it turned out for Andrey Santos, who until that point, was struggling to find his feet in European football.
