Chelsea defender Josh Acheampong has been linked with a move away, even to Tottenham of all clubs. However, he just revealed how happy he is at Chelsea.

Next season, Chelsea is back in the Champions League. They qualified through their Premier League position, but put the cherry on the cake by winning the Conference League too.

Of course, Chelsea has a rich Champions League history, the richest of any team in the English capital. Therefore, Enzo Maresca will be proud to lead the historic team out and back where they belong.

The general vibe at Chelsea, even ignoring the Champions League qualification, is sky high under Maresca. He's got the fans and the players tied into his system, believing he has what it takes.

One of those players who has 100% buy in right now, will come as a blow to Tottenham.

Josh Acheampong is happy at Chelsea

According to the player himself, Josh Acheampong is happy at Chelsea. Not only is he happy at Chelsea, but he believes Enzo Maresca is happy with him, too.

Josh Acheampong was recently given a shot in the Club World Cup, and he's making a great opportunity for himself out of the international competition.

This, understandably, has given Acheampong a renewed sense of energy. So much so, he's made a long-term commitment to the club, not through pen-to-paper, but instead through mouth-to-microphone.

In his own words, Acheampong said: “I don't pay attention to any of that speculation. I love the club and Maresca trusts me. I always want to stay at Chelsea and show what I can do”

Tottenham won't sign Josh Acheampong

Those seven words in particular should sting Tottenham, when Acheampong said "I always want to stay at Chelsea." This is a bold claim, and one that Acheampong wouldn't make unless he absolutely meant it.

Of course, players are PR trained to the 1000th degree. Therefore, if Acheampong wanted to be smart with his words, he would have. Instead, he committed his future to Chelsea, in news that will be welcomed by fans.

Chelsea ran the risk of seeing Acheampong's stock value plummet due to a lack of gametime. However, if the Club World Cup and Acheampong's performances in it are anything to go by, then the Blues will happily welcome a redemption arc of the defender. Chelsea fans would love to see it, and Tottenham fans would hate to see it.
