With just a few days left before the winter transfer window opens, Chelsea tried to explore a deal for Bournemouth's Antoine Semenyo ahead of teams like Liverpool, Manchester United, and Manchester City. But unfortunately, it didn't go as planned, and the Blues ultimately ended up pulling out of the race.

However, the Blues haven't gone silent in the market after losing out on the Ghana international, instead, they've turned their attention to other possibilities and have set their sights on another youngster who has taken the Bundesliga by storm this season with his performances.

According to CaughtOffside, Chelsea are considering RB Leipzig's Yan Diomande. The Ivory Coast international remains a long-standing target of the Blues, as they have closely monitored his progress even before he moved to the Bundesliga club.

However, the report also claims that RB Leipzig value Diomande's transfer at around €100m (£87m). Furthermore, he is under contract with the German side until 2030, and they have no intention of letting him go next year.

Diomande has had a great season so far, scoring 7 goals and assisting 3 times in 16 appearances in all competitions for RB Leipzig. Those are excellent numbers for anybody, especially a 19-year-old.

He has earned a starting spot for the Ivory Coast national side after putting up an excellent showing in the Bundesliga. The future is bright.

The report also states that Chelsea have identified Jeremy Monga and Kenan Yildiz as potential targets. Now it remains to be seen who the West London club will go for in the January transfer window.

At the same time, it is possible that they do not go after anybody at all. Most fans would prefer for them to sign a proven elite player instead of making another project signing that might or mightn't work out.
